ABOUT THE PROCEDURE:
After anesthesia, a thin needle is being inserted into the area adjacent to the affected disk. Unlike other Microdiscectomies, due to a small incision, only minimal trauma to the muscles and surrounding tissues occurs. Specially designed tools are used to access the hernia which exclude trauma to the nerve structures of the spine. The vertebral endoscope is a thin tube with a diameter of a standard pencil, in which there is a camera, backlight and a portal for special tools

Excellent visualization through an endoscope allows the physician to examine the anatomy of the spine and identify the elements that generate pain, thus allowing selectively remove hernias while maintaining healthy tissue. The endoscope has an open portal for accessing special micro-instruments suitable for sensing, dissecting, gripping and removing pathological elements. The entire procedure takes place under fluoroscopic navigation, which ensures accurate and safe placement of all necessary tools. At the end of the procedure, the endoscope is removed and 1 suture is applied to the incision. In a 2 hours after the procedure, the patient can get up with minimal restrictions. In the evening or the next day, the patient is being discharged from the hospital.
